Women's trainers and sneakers
The French language, never stingy with exceptions, has the habit of designating under the terms of "baskets" (high sports shoes) and "tennis shoes" (low sports shoes) what the Anglo-Saxons encompass in a single expression: "sneakers". The word, which is derived from the verb "to sneak", is a direct reference to the rubber soles of these shoes, a material that had - and still has - the property of muffling the noise of footsteps on the ground. The American term has finally crossed the ocean to France, where it is increasingly used to describe these sports shoes used for reasons other than physical activity.
Reminiscent of hip-hop
Today, sneakers have a cultural dimension that they owe, in large part, to their recovery by the hip-hop movement in the early 1980s: a veritable fashion phenomenon, amplified by the major sports brands and high fashion brands, these trainers were then shown off in the world's spotlight by rap groups, such as the trio Run DMC, who wore them with their laces untied, associated with their typically urban clothing, hoodies and oversize jeans. At the same time, the world of professional basketball was not left out: in 1984, Michael Jordan's sponsor launched a pair in the colours of the Chicago Bulls, the club where the future NBA champion played: the Air Jordan One was a triumph with young people and completed the popularisation of sneakers on the international market, a consecration which paradoxically took them out of the purely sporting sphere to be erected, from the 2000s onwards, as a symbol of the "streetwear" trend.
If sneakers are now as popular on the street as they are on the sports field, they also appeal to women and men in almost equal measure. Besson Chaussures has long taken this into account and offers in its catalogue a wide collection of trainers and tennis shoes dedicated to teenagers and women to meet a growing demand: there are low top sneakers such as the multicoloured D. Franklin models, with a pop look and a phylon sole known for its ability to absorb shocks in its air layers. The X Ray Lite trainers by Puma are also low-cut, and are the brand's flagship trainers, thanks to their innovative SoftFoam + insoles, which are ultra-soft. We also like the white scratch trainers created by Le Temps des Cerises, the Mustang sneakers with a breathable canvas lining, or the navy blue zipped trainers by Marco Tozzi...
The ultimate streetwear signature
There are also Skechers women's sports shoes, Benetton's colourful compositions, Ellesse and Fila running shoes, and Tamaris wedge trainers. Another revolution on the feet of fashionistas: Dad shoes, XXL trainers that break the codes by focusing on the nostalgia and vintage effect of the 80s and 90s, the era of crudely kitsch shoes worn by "dads".
More traditional, the models with high uppers, black, beige or multicoloured, will wrap your ankles in a comfortable, warm and flexible case, completed for the winter ranges with a circle of fur, ideal to face the cold and the splashes.
The trainers and tennis shoes collections marketed by Besson Chaussures bring together creations specially designed for physical exercise (runners) and more versatile products dedicated to everyday and urban use to complete a streelook of which sneakers are the centrepiece: they bring the final touch to your swag outfits, tracksuits and leggings, hoodies, tank tops, carrot trousers, pullover dresses, short skirts in faded jeans....
